Getting Ready for the BHRFC 80s & 90s Disco on 12th September at Burgess Hill Rugby Club

I’m really looking forward to this one. On Saturday 12th September, the BHRFC Events Team is putting on an 80s & 90s Disco at Burgess Hill Rugby Club, and I’ll be behind the decks for the night.

Preparation is already underway, and for me that means much more than simply putting together a playlist. I’m going back through the music from both decades, picking out the tracks that genuinely defined the 80s and 90s — the big pop records, club classics, dancefloor anthems, singalong favourites and those tracks you’d forgotten just how much you loved.

The aim is to make the night feel authentic. I’ll be playing the real records from the era rather than filling the night with modern remixes and mashups. As always, I’ll have plenty of music prepared, but what actually gets played will depend on the people in the room and where the dancefloor takes us.

I’ll also be getting the sound and lighting ready to turn the clubhouse into a proper party for the night. And if you want to get into the spirit of it, there’s an 80s and 90s dress code — dig out the denim, neon, tracksuits, big hair or whatever reminds you of the era!

Entry is free, doors open at 7:30pm, and we’ll be partying until late.

If you grew up with the music of the 80s and 90s — or you just love two decades packed with incredible party music — come along. It should be a brilliant night.

Saturday 12th September | Burgess Hill Rugby Club | Free Entry | From 7:30pm
